IPL 2025 Playoff Matches To Be Hosted By Hyderabad And Kolkata
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season concluded with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) emerging as champions after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the final match. KKR topped the league table, while SRH secured the second position, setting the stage for a thrilling championship clash between the two best teams of the season.
Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) also made it to the playoffs. However, RCB was eliminated in the Eliminator round, and RR was defeated in Qualifier 2, leaving KKR and SRH to vie for the title.

This season's playoff matches were held at two prominent venues. The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad hosted the Eliminator and Qualifier 1, while MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai hosted Qualifier 2 and the Final. These venues were selected based on last season's performances.
Gujarat Titans' runner-up finish last season earned Ahmedabad the first two playoff matches. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings' championship win secured Chennai as the host for Qualifier 2 and the Final.
The venues for IPL 2025 playoffs have already been confirmed. Unless major changes occur, Hyderabad and Kolkata will host next season's playoff matches. Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad is set to host the Eliminator and Qualifier 1.
Eden Gardens in Kolkata will host Qualifier 2 and the Final. This will mark the third time that Eden Gardens has hosted an IPL final, adding to its storied history as a premier cricket venue.
