IPL 2025: Sanju Samson Emerges As Only Active Captain In Top Ten Experienced Leaders
All IPL franchises have revealed their retention lists before the 2025 mega auction. Some teams kept their core players, while others opted for a complete overhaul. A few even parted ways with their captains.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni stands out as the most successful captain in IPL history. He led Chennai Super Kings and Rising Pune Supergiants in 226 matches, securing multiple titles with CSK. Rohit Sharma is another notable captain, having won five titles with Mumbai Indians over 158 matches.

In IPL's history, many seasoned captains have emerged, but only a select few have clinched the title. Currently, only a handful remain active and will compete in IPL 2025.
Among active players, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Sanju Samson are part of the top ten most experienced captains list.
