IPL 2025 Auction Unsold Players: The IPL 2025 mega auction commenced in Jeddah on Sunday, November 24. This two-day event is a major opportunity for cricketers worldwide to join the prestigious Indian Premier League.
The auction offers 204 slots, with 70 reserved for overseas players. A total of 577 players are participating, including 48 capped Indian and 195 capped overseas players, as well as three from associate nations. Additionally, there are 319 uncapped Indian and 12 uncapped overseas players, highlighting the IPL's commitment to fostering new talent. Among these participants, 367 hail from India and 210 from abroad.

The first day of the IPL 2025 mega auction will decide the fate of 84 players. Bidding will occur for six sets of players, comprising 46 capped and 38 uncapped individuals.
Lucknow Super Giants made headlines by signing Rishabh Pant for a record Rs 27 crore. Punjab Kings also attracted attention by acquiring Shreyas Iyer for Rs 26.75 crore and Yuzvendra Chahal for Rs 18 crore. Gujarat Titans secured Mohammed Siraj for Rs 12.25 crore, while Sunrisers Hyderabad picked up Mohammed Shami for Rs 10 crore. KL Rahul moved to Delhi Capitals with a Rs 14 crore deal.
Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings led the marquee player selections, each securing three top names. Lucknow Super Giants and Delhi Capitals acquired two marquee players each.
Despite many successful bids, some prominent names remained unsold on the first day of the auction.
Devdutt Padikkal was the first player to go unsold in the IPL 2025 auction. The Indian batter did not find a team initially but might return later in the event. Australian veteran David Warner also went unsold, along with India's Piyush Chawla and England's Jonny Bairstow.
On Day Two, more notable players like Ajinkya Rahane, Shardul Thakur, Glenn Phillips, and Prithvi Shaw did not attract any bids.
