IPL 2025 Auction: Rishabh Pant And Shreyas Iyer Expected To Feature In Two Marquee Sets

Indian cricket stars Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are expected to be part of the two marquee sets at the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) auction. This event is scheduled to take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The IPL Mega Auction will feature two marquee sets, each comprising 8 to 9 elite players. This format returns for the first time since 2018, as the previous major auction included only one marquee set, according to CricBuzz.

The players in these marquee sets will have a base price of Rs 2 Crore. The auction is set for November 24 at the Abady Al Johar Arena, also known as Benchmark Arena.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to reveal the final list of players soon. Franchises have until November 12th to decide from the pool of 1574 registered players.

A total of 1574 players have registered for the IPL 2025 auction. Among them are 1,165 Indian and 409 overseas players. This list includes 320 capped, 1224 uncapped, and 30 Associate players.

Ahead of the October 31st deadline, franchises retained a total of 46 players. At the two-day auction, teams can fill up to 204 slots, including a maximum of 70 overseas positions. Each squad can have up to 25 players per season.
