IPL 2025 Auction: Key Marquee Players Royal Challengers Bengaluru Can Target
The IPL 2025 mega auction is set to be an exciting event, particularly for teams like Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) aiming to bolster their squad for a maiden IPL title. The auction will take place in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on November 24 and 25, featuring 12 marquee players, including India's Rishabh Pant and South Africa's David Miller.
RCB has retained only three players before the auction: Virat Kohli for Rs 21 crore, Rajat Patidar for Rs 11 crore, and uncapped Indian pacer Yash Dayal for Rs 5 crore. With Rs 83 crore in their auction purse, RCB is expected to be aggressive at the auction table.

Among the marquee players available, RCB might target several key individuals to enhance their team. These include dynamic middle-order batsman Rishabh Pant, explosive opener Jos Buttler, pace bowler Mitchell Starc, versatile batsman KL Rahul, and experienced spinner Yuzvendra Chahal.
Rishabh Pant offers a game-changing middle-order option with his ability to turn matches single-handedly. His leadership experience with Delhi Capitals makes him a potential captaincy candidate for RCB. However, securing Pant would require outbidding other interested teams.
Jos Buttler
Jos Buttler is renowned as one of T20 cricket's most destructive openers. He could form a formidable partnership with Faf du Plessis or replace him as a long-term opener. Buttler's skills in accelerating innings and handling pressure are invaluable assets for any team.
Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc brings raw pace and swing along with excellent death-bowling skills. Having previously played for RCB, he could strengthen their bowling lineup significantly. Despite being the current most expensive IPL player at Rs 24.75 crore last season, he may cost less this time around.
KL Rahul
KL Rahul is known for his consistent performances in IPL and has previously played for RCB. His versatility allows him to excel both as an opener and in the middle order. Rahul's calm demeanor adds leadership depth to any team he joins.
Yuzvendra Chahal
A fan favourite during his previous stint with RCB, Yuzvendra Chahal's expertise in middle-overs bowling is crucial. Bringing him back would address spin-bowling concerns while reuniting him with the Chinnaswamy Stadium where he's had great success.
The upcoming auction presents an opportunity for RCB to strategically build a strong squad by targeting these marquee players. Their choices will play a vital role in shaping their campaign as they aim for their first IPL title victory.
