IPL 2025 Auction: Five Players RCB May Target With RTM Cards

Royal Challengers Bengaluru are gearing up for the IPL 2025 mega auction, aiming to finally secure their first trophy. The team has retained Virat Kohli for Rs 21 crore, Rajat Patidar for Rs 11 crore, and Yash Dayal for Rs 5 crore. This leaves them with an impressive auction budget of Rs 83 crore, the second-largest among all teams.

With only three players retained, RCB can use the Right to Match (RTM) card to bring back three released players during the auction. Several players who contributed to RCB's playoff qualification last season were released. With a substantial budget, Bengaluru's management is keen on reacquiring some of these former players for the new IPL cycle.

RCB's Potential RTM Targets for IPL 2025

Mohammed Siraj

The release of Mohammed Siraj was unexpected, but he could quickly return to RCB. Siraj has been a key performer for Bengaluru over the years. Despite recent form concerns, if RCB can secure him at a favourable price, they might use the RTM card on him.

Mahipal Lomror

Mahipal Lomror's time with RCB has been limited, yet he remains a formidable batter. Recently, he scored a triple century in the Ranji Trophy for Rajasthan. Given his potential and current form, RCB may consider using the RTM card to bring him back.

Vijaykumar Vyshak

Karnataka's own Vijaykumar Vyshak impressed as a replacement player in IPL 2023 with nine wickets in seven matches. Although his performance dipped in IPL 2024, taking only four wickets in four games, his accuracy and adaptability make him a valuable asset for future seasons.

Will Jacks

Will Jacks is another strong candidate for an RTM return to RCB. In IPL 2024, he scored 230 runs at a strike rate of 175. His ability to strengthen the middle order makes him an attractive option for Bengaluru as they look to bolster their lineup.

Glenn Maxwell

Glenn Maxwell had a disappointing IPL 2024 season with just 52 runs and six wickets. Despite this, his recent performances with Australia suggest he's regaining form. If available at a lower price, RCB might consider using their RTM card on him due to his reputation and skills.

Bengaluru's strategy in the upcoming auction will be crucial as they aim to build a winning team. With key players potentially returning through RTM cards and a significant budget at their disposal, RCB is poised to make impactful decisions that could shape their future success.
