IPL 2025 Auction Day 1: Comprehensive Guidelines And Player Timeline For Jeddah Event
The IPL 2025 mega auction is set to be an exciting event in Jeddah, spanning two days of intense bidding. A total of 577 players will be up for grabs as the 10 franchises aim to strengthen their squads for the upcoming IPL cycle.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that on the first day, 84 players will be auctioned. The initial two sets are Marquee sets, each containing six players. Additionally, the fate of 38 uncapped players will be decided on November 24.

The auction's structure includes guidelines, timelines, and player sets that will shape this eagerly awaited event. Franchises can use the Right to Match (RTM) option without any restriction on the raised bid amount. There are a total of 14 RTM cards available across all franchises.
The combined purse for this auction is INR 641.5 crore across all teams. Significant amounts are expected to be spent on marquee players.

The auction begins with Marquee Lots, followed by lunch. Then come Capped Batters, All-Rounders, and Wicketkeepers, followed by a short break. Capped Bowlers will then go under the hammer before another brief pause. The final set features Uncapped Players, including big names like Faf du Plessis and Kane Williamson.
Start Time: The event starts at 3:30 PM IST or 1:00 PM local time in Jeddah.
Players Under the Hammer: Day 1 features 12 sets comprising a total of 84 players.
- Marquee Lots: Two marquee sets with six players each (Set 1 & Set 2).
- Capped Batters, All-Rounders, and Wicketkeepers. Capped Bowlers. (Set 3 to Set 6)
- Uncapped Players - Total of 38 players (Set 7 to Set 12)
IPL 2025 Mega Auction Day 1 Break Schedule
- A lunch break follows the marquee sets.
- A short break after the wicketkeepers' lot.
- A final break before concluding with uncapped players.
The second day will continue with both capped and uncapped players, completing the list of all available participants for this auction. A maximum of 204 slots are open, including up to 70 overseas players.
An accelerated process begins from Player No.116 onwards, allowing franchises to fast-track bids for a pre-submitted list of up to 25 players.
IPL Auction Increments for IPL 2025
Bidding increments are structured as follows:

| Rs 1 - Rs 2 Crore: | 10 Lakh |
| Rs 2 - Rs 5 Crore: | 20 Lakh |
| Above Rs 5 Crore: | 25 Lakh |
This means if a player's base price is Rs.2 crore, bids start at Rs.10 lakh increments until reaching Rs.3 crore where it continues at Rs.20 lakh increments. For example, if starting at INR1.25 crore, the next bid would be INR1.3 crore.
