IPL 2024: How Rain In Hyderabad Could Affect SRH Vs GT Playoff Chances
The rain in Hyderabad has put the IPL 2024 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at risk. The toss is yet to take place at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium due to continuous downpour in the City of Nizams.
While a washout is not yet confirmed, it could significantly impact the playoff race. A shared point could be detrimental for some teams while beneficial for others.

If the rain persists, Sunrisers Hyderabad would secure their playoff spot. However, this would also mean that if Rajasthan Royals (RR) defeat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), SRH would miss out on the 2nd place.
A washout would also set up a crucial match between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Saturday. RCB needs to win by more than 18 runs or chase a total of 200 with 11 or more balls remaining to secure a playoff spot, given that Delhi Capitals (DC) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) cannot catch up on Net Run Rate (NRR).
Delhi Capitals would be eliminated from the IPL 2024 playoffs if the match in Hyderabad is washed out.
KKR has already secured the top position on the table. Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Chennai Super Kings are competing for the 2nd spot. RCB can only qualify for either 3rd or 4th place and has no chance of securing a top-two spot.
