IPL 2024: Harbhajan Singh Predicts RCB Vs CSK Will Be The Most Watched Match This Season

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has predicted that the virtual knockout match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be the most watched game in the IPL 2024 season.

With a playoff spot at stake, southern rivals RCB and CSK will face off on the penultimate day of the league phase at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, May 18. CSK needs a win to secure a playoff spot, while RCB must win by a significant margin and rely on other results to finish in the top four on the IPL 2024 points table.

Harbhajan Singh, who is currently working as a cricket expert and commentator with Star Sports for IPL 2024, shared his thoughts on the upcoming do-or-die match between RCB and CSK. "A person who shows courage on match day will win the do-or-die match that day. It's important to be aggressive and calm at the same time. Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni are champion players. There is no doubt about it," Harbhajan said on Star Sports Press Room Show.

"And then, more importantly, they know how to play big games. Virat Kohli was a part of the 2011 World Cup team. Dhoni was the captain of the team. Dhoni has won a lot of trophies," he added.

The former spinner also mentioned that although Kohli may not have won a major trophy, his determination to secure one will see him prepared for the contest as it presents a significant opportunity. "Even if Virat Kohli doesn't have a trophy in his hand, if you look at the leader on the run board, he has done his job exactly the way he has been doing it every year," Harbhajan noted.

"So it's just a matter of one more game. He will give himself that chance. He will say that this is the game, this is the opportunity. So, I don't want to go back and think about what has already happened in the past," he continued.

Harbhajan also emphasized that the RCB vs CSK clash will be a major event with thousands expected to attend and many more watching from home. He predicted it would be the most watched game of this IPL season. "RCB vs. CSK is going to be a big game. Virat Kohli is fire and Dhoni is water. Still. Who will win that day, we'll find out on Saturday. But it's going to be a massive game," he said.

"There will be a huge crowd in Bangalore. There will be as much crowd outside as there will be inside the stadium. So, it's going to be probably the most watched game of this IPL," Harbhajan concluded.
