IPL 2024 Reveals Players With The Most Impressive Boundary Percentages
With Kolkata Knight Riders lifting the title after a heavily one-sided final at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, IPL 2024 came to an end.
Despite its ending, this season will be remembered as different from its previous editions, as it has shown the new definition of batting in modern T20 cricket. The pyrotechnics of this entire season are unmatched by any other edition of the coveted tournament.
Thanks to the batting-friendly nature of most of the pitches and the batters, we have seen a plethora of records to break and set this season. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders should get a special mention due to their bold, fearless approach, which led to the highest-ever total in IPL history two times within a few days.
For most of the season, the tournament had been a nightmare for the bowlers, barring a few. With a record number of sixes hit (1260), IPL 2024 was credited with registering the highest-ever run rate of 9.56. Also, 2174 fours have been hit this season.
With outstanding statistics of 89.70% of his runs scored coming from boundaries, Jake Fraser-McGurk has topped the list, closely followed by the injured Mitchell Marsh at 88.52%.
It was the debut season for Fraser-McGurk, and he scored 330 runs in only nine matches. The 22-year-old youngster from the Delhi Capitals has managed to score 296 runs from boundaries with only 32 fours and 28 sixes.
Other players in the top ten are - Romario Shepherd (87.72%), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (83.87%), MS Dhoni (83.23%), Abhishek Sharma (81.82%), Sunil Narine (81.56%), Andre Russell (79.28%), Philip Salt (79.08%), and Travis Head (79.01%).
Six players among the top ten from the above list are from the two finalist sides, with four from KKR and two from SRH. The only concern will be for India, given that only two players from India are on this list: 24-year-old Abhishek Sharma and veteran Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Players with Most Fours and Sixes in IPL 2024
SRH opener Abhishek Sharma has hit the highest number of sixes (42) this season, followed by another SRH batter, Heinrich Klaasen and Virat Kohli (RCB), with 38 sixes. Travis Head hit the maximum number of fours (64) this season, followed by Virat Kohli again with 62 fours.
