IPL 2024: Who Will Dominate As Top Wicket-Takers In RR Vs RCB Eliminator?
In the Eliminator of IPL 2024, former champions Rajasthan Royals will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Wednesday, May 22.
Rajasthan and Bengaluru have faced each other 31 times, with RCB winning 15 matches and RR securing 13 victories. Three matches ended with no result. In their last encounter, Rajasthan triumphed over Bengaluru by six wickets.

Rajasthan started the season strong with eight wins in their first nine matches but lost momentum, entering the Eliminator with four consecutive losses and a washout. Conversely, RCB had a dramatic campaign, winning only one of their first eight matches before making a comeback with six consecutive victories to clinch the fourth spot.
Despite recent lacklustre performances, RR's bowling line-up remains one of the most experienced this season. Trent Boult will lead the pace attack and has been effective in powerplay overs. Sandeep Sharma has also become an x-factor with his slow medium pace. Spinners Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal have performed well throughout the season.
RCB's batting-heavy squad has struggled due to a weaker and less experienced bowling line-up. However, recent matches have seen confident displays by pacers Yash Dayal and Mohammed Siraj. In the spin department, Karn Sharma and Glenn Maxwell have also shown promise.
Yuzvendra Chahal (RR): The most successful bowler in IPL history with 204 wickets, Chahal has been slightly out of form recently but remains RR's leading wicket-taker this season with 17 wickets. The 33-year-old leg-spinner will be crucial in the middle overs against in-form Rajat Patidar.
Trent Boult (RR): The 34-year-old Kiwi pacer has taken 12 wickets so far. Boult will be vital against RCB's top-order batters like Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. His left-arm medium-fast bowling will be key against RCB's right-handed batting line-up.
Yash Dayal (RCB): The 26-year-old Indian pacer has had a rollercoaster season but has become an important player in RCB's comeback run. Dayal has taken 15 wickets this season and will be crucial in the powerplay against RR's lower middle order.
Mohammed Siraj (RCB): The 30-year-old right-arm medium-fast bowler has returned to form at a crucial time. Siraj has taken 13 wickets so far and will be expected to deliver a strong performance against RR's top order in the Eliminator.
RCB enters the play-off with great confidence due to recent successes, while RR faces a challenging situation. The battle will primarily be between RCB's formidable batting line-up and RR's strong bowling unit.
The venue for Qualifier-1 provided enough bounce to aid both pacers and batters, suggesting a high-scoring contest in this do-or-die match between the Royals.
