Season 2 Of Indian Street Premier League To Start On January 26, 2025

The Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) is gearing up for its second season, set to take place from January 26 to February 9, 2025, at the Dadoji Konddev Stadium in Thane. This unique T10 cricket tournament uses tennis balls and is played inside a stadium, making it a distinctive event in Indian cricket.

ISPL's inaugural season in March was a massive success, attracting over 12,000 fans per match and totalling more than 500,000 attendees throughout the tournament. The league combined sports with entertainment, featuring star-studded ceremonies and innovative game elements like the 'Tip Top' toss and 'Tape Ball Over.'

ISPL Season 2 Begins Jan 2025

The trial process for ISPL begins at the city level. Top performers advance to the Zone Level, where competition intensifies as players aim for a spot in the Auction Pool. Each zone has designated dates for final trials: Central and South Zones from October 26 to 28, East and North Zones from November 2 to 4, and West Zone from November 5 to 9.

The trial process culminates with Simulation Matches on November 12 and 13, 2024. These matches provide athletes one last chance to showcase their skills before the auction.

This season, ISPL invites organisations and individuals to host registration camps. By registering at least 1,500 players, they can establish their city as an official trial location. This initiative allows communities to support aspiring cricketers directly while gaining recognition from ISPL.

Cine stars like Amitabh Bachchan (Majhi Mumbai), Akshay Kumar (Srinagar Ke Veer), Hrithik Roshan (KVN Bangalore Strikers), Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan (Tiigers of Kolkata), Ram Charan (Falcon Riders Hyderabad), and Suriya Sivakumar (Chennai Singams) add glamour to the league. Their involvement makes ISPL a premier event that resonates with cricket fans nationwide.

Star Power and Championship

The Tiigers of Kolkata, owned by Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, emerged as champions of the inaugural edition by defeating Majhi Mumbai in a thrilling final earlier this year.

Sachin Tendulkar, Core Committee Member of ISPL, expressed optimism about the tournament's future growth. He believes it will continue providing opportunities for young cricketers across India and make a "lasting impact" on Indian cricket.

"The ISPL is about giving a platform to those who may not have had the opportunity to showcase their talent," Tendulkar said as quoted from a release by ISPL.

"The tournament has brought the joy of the game to new audiences and opened doors for young cricketers across the country. It is my hope that the league continues to grow and make a lasting impact on Indian cricket, giving every player a chance to dream big."
