T20 World Cup 2024: Indian Team To Depart For New York On May 25
New Delhi, May 18 (PTI): The majority of the Indian cricket team, along with their extensive support staff, will depart for New York on May 25. The remaining members will leave for the T20 World Cup 2024 after the IPL final on May 26.
Initially, players from teams that did not qualify for the IPL play-offs were scheduled to leave for New York on May 21, two days after the final league game on May 19. However, plans have changed, and the first batch will now depart on May 25.

"The likes of skipper Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant, Arshdeep Singh, and Axar Patel are among those expected to leave on May 25," a BCCI source told PTI anonymously.
"Earlier, the departure date for the first batch was May 21. Since India is playing only one warm-up game against Bangladesh on June 1, the players will get to spend some extra days at home," the source added.
Players participating in the IPL final will stay back and leave for New York on May 27. This schedule allows adequate time for the squad to reduce jet lag and have at least three to four quality net sessions before the warm-up game against Bangladesh.
India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign against Ireland on June 5 in New York. This match will be followed by a highly anticipated clash against Pakistan on June 9.
