Bollywood Celebrates As India Clinches T20 World Cup 2024 Title
Indian film stars Amitabh Bachchan, Ranveer Singh, Kamal Haasan, Chiranjeevi, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Varun Dhawan, and Allu Arjun celebrated India's victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
India's cricket team, led by Rohit Sharma, won the trophy on June 29 at Kensington Oval in Barbados. They defeated South Africa by 7 runs in a thrilling match, ending an 11-year wait for an ICC title and a 13-year wait for a World Cup.

Amitabh Bachchan, a passionate cricket fan, revealed he avoided watching the final as he believes India loses when he does. "WORLD CHAMPIONS … INDIA !!! T20 WORLD CUP .. 2024 .. the excitement and emotions and the apprehension .. ALL DONE and over .. the TV was not seen .. we lose when I do .. ! Nothing more enters the cerebrum .. just the tears in tune with the tears of the TEAM !" he wrote on his blog.
Ranveer Singh praised both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma on Instagram. "The King dropped the anchor. What a way to cap an incredible career," he said about Kohli. "And for this guy. No words. Just pure emotion," Singh added about Sharma.
The joy of victory was mixed with sadness as Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement from T20 Internationals after the win. Kohli scored a match-winning 76 runs off 59 balls.
Kamal Haasan described the win as "a victory for the ages" and highlighted key moments from the match. He praised Kohli's innings, Bumrah's bowling, Surya Kumar's catch, and Sharma's captaincy.

Mammootty remarked on India's comeback win against South Africa to secure their second T20 World Cup since 2007. Kareena Kapoor Khan posted on Instagram: "We brought it home," while Varun Dhawan applauded the team's effort and leadership.
"Rahul Dravid was always one of my most favourite players and now to see him win a World Cup as a coach hits the spot. Bharat Mata ki JAI," Dhawan wrote on Instagram.
Kajol expressed her excitement: "I'm still screaming and can't get the smile off my face. So happy and so proud!" Allu Arjun congratulated Team India on X: "What a Match Soaring high with pride." Jr NTR added his congratulations too.
