Team India To Face Zimbabwe In T20I Series Opener With New Look Squad

India's cricket team is set to return to international action against Zimbabwe, just a week after their T20 World Cup victory. The first match of the five-game T20I series will take place on Saturday, July 6. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has named a youthful squad for this tour, offering young players a chance to secure their spots in the main team.

Shubman Gill will lead the Indian side, with several players receiving their first call-up. World Cup winners Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson, and Shivam Dube are expected to join the squad after the initial two matches. Gill is set to captain the team but might bat at number three. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Abhishek Sharma are likely to open the innings, with Sharma making his debut for India.
