Jadeja And Dube Strive For Comeback Before India Faces USA In T20 World Cup

IND vs USA: As India prepare to face hosts USA in their third Group A match of the T20 World Cup 2024, out-of-form all-rounders Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube are striving to regain their form. The match will be played at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York on Sunday.

Most of the Indian cricket team players chose to stay in their hotel rooms for the optional training session. However, Ravindra Jadeja and Shivam Dube were among the three players who decided to train at the Nassau County stadium.

Jadeja, Dube Eye Form Ahead of USA Match

Rishabh Pant, who has played crucial innings in both matches for India so far in the T20 World Cup 2024, joined Jadeja and Dube. India's travelling reserves - Avesh Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Shubman Gill, and Rinku Singh - also took the opportunity to warm up in the middle.

Shivam Dube has been struggling with the bat since being picked for India's squad for the T20 World Cup 2024. In his eight innings, including six in IPL 2024, the 30-year-old has a highest score of 21 and has been dismissed for a duck twice.

In the crucial match against Pakistan, Shivam Dube was dismissed for three off nine balls. India had lost their key batters early and were expecting Dube to deliver in a moment of crisis. In India's only practice match against Bangladesh, he scored 14 off 16 balls.

Ravindra Jadeja has also struggled with the bat, crossing the 20-run mark only twice in his last eight outings. He was dismissed for a first-ball duck against Pakistan as India were bundled out for 119 in 19 overs. The left-arm spinner has also gone six innings without taking any wicket.

India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey has backed Ravindra Jadeja, stating that the 35-year-old is just one good outing away from returning to form.

"It's a long tournament. I think...someone like Jadeja, who's so vastly experienced, he just needs a game out there to just get his roots around and feel around. And we know that the skills that he has and the experience, he's going to go ahead and he's going to win your games," said Mhambrey.

"So that confidence we have in not only Jadeja but honestly with someone like Dube and others as well," Mhambrey added during the pre-match press conference on Tuesday.
