India Vs Afghanistan T20I: A Recap Of Their Last Thrilling Encounter
India will begin their Super 8 journey with a crucial match against Afghanistan on Thursday, June 20.
Rohit Sharma and his team finished at the top of Group A with an unbeaten record. India won three matches, while one match against Canada was washed out. Afghanistan, on the other hand, secured three victories and only lost to West Indies during the group stages.

As these two teams face off in the T20 World Cup, a competitive encounter is expected. Although Afghanistan have never won against India in their previous eight T20 matches, the gap between these two nations has been decreasing over the years.
Afghanistan will take confidence from their performance against India when they last met in T20Is.
Afghanistan and India played in the final match of a three-match T20I series earlier this year at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
India won the match, but Afghanistan delivered a stellar performance. The match ended in a tie, and even the Super Over ended in a tie. India went on to win the second Super Over to secure their victory.
Rohit Sharma Century
Rohit Sharma scored an unbeaten 121 off just 69 balls as India posted 212 for 4 in their 20 overs. Rinku Singh also contributed significantly, smashing an unbeaten 69 off just 39 deliveries.
Afghan Chase
The Afghans showed their mettle and started brilliantly. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (50 off 32), Ibrahim Zadran (50 off 41), and Gulbadin Naib (55* off 23) all scored half-centuries. Mohammad Nabi played an excellent knock in the middle order to take Afghanistan closer to the target. Eighteen runs were scored in the last over of Mukesh Kumar as Afghanistan finished at 212 for 6 in their full quota of overs.
1st Super Over
The first Super Over saw Afghanistan batting first, where they scored 16 runs. In the chase, India captain Rohit Sharma hit a boundary and a six, but India could only match Afghanistan's score.
2nd Super Over
India managed only 11 runs this time after batting first. Ravi Bishnoi bowled brilliantly in the Super Over, clinching two wickets within the first three balls as Afghanistan lost their two wickets for just one run.
India won the second Super Over and thus clinched the T20I series 3-0.
