India Triumphs Over South Africa In First T20I With Sanju Samson's Century And Strong Spin Bowling
India's dominance in T20Is continued with a remarkable win over South Africa in the first T20I on Friday, November 8. Sanju Samson shone with the bat, leading India to a 61-run victory in Durban. This triumph gave India a 1-0 lead in the four-match series.
South Africa's captain, Aiden Markram, chose to field first on an overcast afternoon. Initially, it seemed like a wise decision, but Sanju Samson turned the tide against the South African bowlers. Abhishek Sharma was dismissed early for 8 runs off 7 balls, but Samson took charge.

Samson unleashed his batting prowess, forming a crucial partnership of 66 runs in just 37 balls with captain Suryakumar Yadav. After Yadav's dismissal, Samson continued his aggressive play and scored his second T20I century. He became the first Indian to achieve consecutive T20I centuries.
Sanju amassed 107 runs from just 50 balls, hitting seven fours and ten sixes. Tilak Varma contributed with a quick 33 off 21 balls. However, India faced a late collapse, scoring only 35 runs while losing five wickets in the last five overs, ending at 202 for eight.
South Africa's chase began poorly as Arshdeep Singh removed Aiden Markram in the opening over. Tristan Stubbs and Ryan Rickelton also fell cheaply. Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller tried to stabilize the innings but Klaasen's wicket shifted momentum.
Varun Chakravarthy dismissed Miller for 18 off 22 balls, and Klaasen followed soon after with a score of 25 off 22 balls. Ravi Bishnoi then struck twice in one over, removing Patrick Kruger and Andile Simelane cheaply.
Gerald Coetzee offered some resistance with powerful shots but couldn't bridge the gap as South Africa's lower order crumbled. The hosts were bowled out for 141 runs with more than two overs remaining.
