India Surges To A 2-0 Lead In T20I Series Against Sri Lanka With Swift Chase
India secured a decisive 2-0 lead in the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka by winning the second game at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. They triumphed by seven wickets on Sunday, July 28.
Rain interrupted play after just three balls in the second innings, reducing India's chase to 78 runs in eight overs. The Men in Blue achieved this target in just 6.3 overs.

Yashasvi Jaiswal played a crucial role, scoring 30 runs off 15 balls. Captain Suryakumar Yadav contributed with 26 runs off 12 balls after opener Sanju Samson was dismissed for a golden duck by Maheesh Theekshana.
Following Surya's departure, Hardik Pandya stepped up and scored an unbeaten 22 runs off nine balls. Sri Lanka's Wanindu Hasaranga conceded 34 runs in two overs, while Matheesha Pathirana gave away 18 runs in nine balls.
Earlier, Sri Lanka posted a total of 161/9 after being put into bat first. They were cruising at 123/2 in 14 overs but collapsed towards the end of their innings.
Their score plummeted from 130/2 after 15 overs to 161/9 at the end of their innings. Ravi Bishnoi took three wickets for 26 runs, while Arshdeep Singh, Axar Patel, and Hardik Pandya each claimed two wickets. In the last five overs, Sri Lanka lost seven wickets for just 31 runs.

The final T20I match, now a dead rubber, is scheduled for Tuesday, July 30 at the same venue. The ODI series will commence on August 2 with Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli returning to action.
