The match at Pallekele Stadium saw India perform a remarkable comeback. Sri Lanka needed just 23 runs from the last four overs with eight wickets in hand but lost seven wickets and only managed to tie the game.

Washington Sundar played a crucial role in the Super Over by taking two wickets and restricting Sri Lanka to just two runs. Suryakumar Yadav then sealed the win for India by hitting a boundary on the first ball of their chase.

Earlier, India's batting lineup was restricted to 137 runs by the Lankan bowlers. During their chase, Sri Lanka seemed poised for victory with Kusal Mendis and Kusal Perera at the crease but faltered dramatically in the final four overs.

India's 6th Tied T20I Match

This match marked India's sixth tied game in T20 history. The first instance was during the 2007 T20 World Cup against Pakistan, which ended after a Bowl Out. India now ranks second in tied T20 matches, behind New Zealand.

In the 17th over, Washington Sundar took two vital wickets, but Khaleel Ahmed conceded 12 runs afterward, leaving Sri Lanka needing just nine runs from the last two overs. Rinku Singh's excellent performance in the 19th over allowed only three runs and claimed two crucial wickets.

With six runs required off the final over, captain Suryakumar Yadav bowled it himself. He conceded five runs and took two wickets, pushing the match into a Super Over.

The Indian team's resilience under pressure was evident throughout this series. Their ability to pull off such dramatic victories highlights their growing strength and depth in T20 cricket.
