Varun Aaron Stresses Importance Of Mohammed Shami In India's Pace Attack For Australia Tests

Varun Aaron, an Indian fast bowler, did not hold back his views on the importance of pace in cricket. On Friday, at the Jharkhand State Cricket Association, he expressed that excluding Mohd Shami from India's pace attack would be unwise.

"Let him play from the second Test at least if you still want to see his consistency. But Mohd Shami is a must in order to rattle the Aussies along with Jasprit Bumrah," Aaron told MyKhel during an exclusive chat.

Varun Aaron Advocates for Shami's Inclusion

Shami's impressive comeback in a Ranji match for Bengal has encouraged Varun to voice his opinion. "It's about controlled aggression whether you are batting or bowling. You need to attack in Australia to push them on the back foot and it is here that Shami is going to be important for his experience of handling pressure situations," Varun said.

Shami is anticipated to join the Indian squad for their five-Test series in Australia. After being out for about a year, his return alongside Bumrah could be crucial in challenging the Australian team.

India has been struggling in Test cricket recently, especially after losing a three-match series against New Zealand. Fans are eager to see how they perform in Australia and maintain their dominance in this format.

The Indian team has previously secured victories in the Border-Gavaskar trophy in 2018 and 2021. Achieving another win against Australia on their home turf would be a significant accomplishment.
