Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma gave India an explosive start at the Wanderers in Johannesburg. Although Abhishek was dismissed after scoring 36 runs off 18 balls, Samson found his form after struggling in previous matches.

Samson was joined by Tilak Varma, and together they dominated the South African bowlers. Both players scored centuries, marking the first time an ICC full-member team achieved two centuries in a single T20I innings.
Tilak Varma remained unbeaten with 120 runs from just 47 balls, while Samson contributed 109 runs off 56 deliveries. Their efforts helped India reach a massive total of 283 runs in their allotted overs.
