India Refuses To Host Women's T20 World Cup Due To Monsoon, Prepares For ODI
India has declined the International Cricket Council's (ICC) proposal to host the Women's T20 World Cup in October, replacing Bangladesh.
The ICC is considering a venue change due to political unrest in Bangladesh. Since July, over 300 people have died in protests initially against a government job quota system, which evolved into opposition against Prime Minister Hasina Wajid's administration.

The turmoil led to Ms. Hasina fleeing to India, ending her 15-year rule. The ICC is "closely monitoring developments" in Bangladesh with the domestic cricket board, prioritising player safety.
Several countries, including England, India, and Australia, have issued strong travel advisories since an interim government took over in Bangladesh.
"They (ICC) have asked us if we would stage the Women's T20 World Cup. I have categorically said no," Jay Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), told the Times of India on Thursday.
"We would be in the monsoon season and on top of that we will host the Women's ODI World Cup next year. I don't want to give any kind of signals that I want to hold consecutive World Cups," he added.
Alternative Hosts Considered
The United Arab Emirates and Sri Lanka are also being considered as potential hosts for the tournament.
The ICC's decision comes amid significant political instability in Bangladesh. The unrest has caused widespread concern about the safety and well-being of players and officials.
With India's refusal, the ICC must now look at other options to ensure the tournament proceeds smoothly and safely for all involved.
