India Contemplates Team Selection For 3rd T20I Against Zimbabwe
India faces a selection dilemma with the T20 World Cup-winning trio of Sanju Samson, Shivam Dube, and Yashasvi Jaiswal joining the squad ahead of the 3rd T20I against Zimbabwe on July 10 in Harare.
Samson, Dube, and Jaiswal were part of the original 15-member squad for the Zimbabwe tour but missed the first two matches due to delayed arrival from Barbados and post-World Cup celebrations.

BCCI had named B Sai Sudharsan, Jitesh Sharma, and Harshit Rana as cover for these players. With their arrival now confirmed, the team management faces a tough task in selecting the playing XI for the next match.
Sai Sudharsan was handed a debut in the second T20I, replacing pacer Khaleel Ahmed. However, he did not get a chance to bat as India's top four completed the job.
India suffered a surprise loss in the opening match but bounced back strongly in the second T20I to level the series at 1-1. Led by Shubman Gill, India made only one change to their playing XI from the team that collapsed in the first match.
While Gill failed to impress, Abhishek Sharma responded with a quickfire century after failing in his debut. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored an unbeaten 77, and Rinku Singh played an unbeaten cameo of 48 runs off 22 balls.
Given that three of the top four performed well, changes to the top order are unlikely. However, wicketkeeping and pace-bowling all-rounders could be considered if India wants to tweak their winning combination.
Sai Sudharsan is likely to make way for one of the three returning players. Samson could replace Dhruv Jurel as wicketkeeper-batter or come in as a pure batter instead of Sudharsan.
Jaiswal may have to wait for his chance since two of three opening options are performing well. The captain's position also makes it difficult for him to find a spot in this series due to a crowded top order.
Abhishek Sharma is expected to retain his spot following his maiden international century. Gaikwad is also unlikely to be dropped after his fine fifty. Gill remains undroppable as captain.
Dube could be useful if his all-round skills are fully utilized. India went into the second T20I with one bowler short and might consider using Dube's abilities on tracks favouring pace bowlers.
The dilemma lies in deciding who to drop for Dube's inclusion. It could either be Parag, who had just one opportunity to bat or Jurel with Samson coming in as wicketkeeper-batter.
The team management will need to carefully weigh their options before finalizing their playing XI for this crucial match against Zimbabwe.
