India's Bowling Attack For Perth Test Finalised With Ashwin And Three Pacers
Reports indicate that Team India might have decided on their bowling line-up for the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which begins on Friday, November 22, in Perth. This comes a day after the potential batting unit was speculated upon.
According to Indian Express, India's bowling strategy for the match at Optus Stadium in Perth involves three pacers and a seam-bowling all-rounder, Nitish Kumar Reddy. The green wicket is expected to influence this decision.

If these reports hold true, Nitish Kumar Reddy will debut in Test cricket as the fourth pace option. He will join stand-in captain Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, and likely Akash Deep in the attack.
The report also suggests that Ravichandran Ashwin might be preferred over Ravindra Jadeja due to Australia's left-handed batters like Usman Khawaja, Travis Head, and Alex Carey. Ashwin's past success against left-handers and Steve Smith makes him a strong candidate for the spin role.
Historically, India has opted for a single spinner during overseas tours to SENA countries. Although playing two spinners could be tempting, the conditions in Perth may discourage such a strategy.
It remains uncertain if Ashwin will be chosen over Jadeja. Ashwin has played 10 Tests in Australia, taking 39 wickets at an average of 42.15. During the last tour, he participated in three out of four Tests. If selected, this would be his first Test appearance in Perth.
Nitish Kumar Reddy is expected to be picked as the fourth pace option since he is the only seam-bowling all-rounder available. The team aims to maintain batting strength by not opting for an extra pacer like Prasidh Krishna or Harshit Rana.
The selection of the three main pacers isn't finalised yet. Jasprit Bumrah is confirmed as captain and lead bowler. Mohammed Siraj is anticipated to join him due to his seniority. Akash Deep, Rana, and Krishna are likely contenders for the remaining spot.
