Heinrich Klaasen Declares Suryakumar Yadav The Greatest Of All Time In T20 Cricket
South African cricketer Heinrich Klaasen has hailed Suryakumar Yadav as the greatest of all time (GOAT) in T20 cricket. He praised the Indian batsman for his daring shot-making abilities.
In a chat with JioCinema's Q20s, Klaasen expressed admiration for Yadav's fearless batting style. He highlighted the shots that have made Yadav a game-changer in the sport.

Klaasen particularly admired Suryakumar's unconventional approach, especially the "Supla Shot" over fine leg. This risky shot has become a signature move in Yadav's T20 repertoire. Klaasen humorously admitted he avoids attempting it himself, saying, "I don't like getting into line too much."
If given a chance, Klaasen would blend Suryakumar Yadav's scoops with AB de Villiers' "360-degree" strokeplay. He described this combination of his two favourite batsmen as "phenomenal."
Reflecting on his T20 career, Klaasen recalled two standout innings against India: scoring 69 in 2018 and 81 in 2022. He prefers the latter due to challenging conditions, stating, "Probably the 81," when asked about his favourite innings.
Klaasen identified Jasprit Bumrah as the toughest bowler he's faced in T20 cricket. Known for his precision and variations, Bumrah consistently challenges batsmen. Klaasen acknowledged that facing Bumrah's skills is a significant test in the shortest format.
Bumrah has faced fitness issues recently, affecting his rankings across formats. In T20I cricket, he currently holds the 27th spot in ICC rankings. Despite this, he remains one of the most formidable bowlers globally when at his best, as Klaasen's comments indicate.
Klaasen is also making waves himself; he became IPL history's costliest retention after Sunrisers Hyderabad retained him for ₹23 crore. This reflects his rising prominence in the IPL scene.
