Harshit Rana's Impressive Four-Wicket Spell Turns Tide For India Against PM XI In Warm-up Match
In a warm-up match against the Prime Minister's XI in Canberra on December 1, Harshit Rana delivered an impressive display of fast bowling. His remarkable four-wicket haul in just six balls significantly disrupted the hosts' middle order at the Manuka Oval.
Initially, Harshit struggled to find his rhythm with the moving pink ball, giving away runs in his first spell. However, he found his form in the 23rd over. With the PM XI comfortably placed at 131/2, Harshit bowled Jack Clayton for 40 with a superb delivery. Two balls later, Oliver Davies was dismissed for a duck as Harshit shattered his stumps, reducing the hosts to 131/4.

Returning for the 25th over, Harshit struck again with his first ball, dismissing Jack Edwards for one. Edwards misjudged a short ball and was caught by Prasidh Krishna at long leg. The next delivery saw Sam Harper attempt a pull shot but fall for a duck as Krishna took another catch at long leg. This devastating spell left PM XI struggling at 133/6.
The collapse continued when Prasidh Krishna removed Aidan O'Connor in the following over, leaving PM XI at 138/7. Despite Sam Konstas's earlier century, Indian bowlers led by Harshit ensured that the opposition couldn't build on their promising start.
The match was reduced to a 46-over-a-side contest due to persistent rain after the first day was washed out completely. India, led by Rohit Sharma, won the toss and chose to bowl. While preparing for the pink-ball Test against Australia is crucial for India, Harshit's performance has added depth to their bowling options.
This match acts as an essential precursor to the Day-Night Test in Adelaide starting on December 6. India aims to overcome their previous poor performance of being bowled out for 36 in their last pink-ball Test in Australia with a strong showing in this series opener.
