Harry Brook Ascends To Career-High Third In ICC Test Batting Rankings

England batter Harry Brook has reached a career-high third place in the latest ICC Men's Test Batting Rankings. This follows his remarkable performance in the second Test of the three-match series against the West Indies.

Brook's century at Trent Bridge was pivotal in England's dominant 241-run win, securing an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. The series is part of the ICC World Test Championship.

Brook Hits Career-Best ICC Rank

Ben Duckett, England's left-handed opener, has advanced six places to 16th position after scoring 71 and 76 in the second Test. Ollie Pope, who was named Player of the Match for his scores of 121 and 51, has jumped from 29th to 21st position.

Brook tallied scores of 36 and 109 in Nottingham, moving up four places in the rankings. His teammates Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope also made significant gains in the latest weekly update to the men's rankings, which are published every Wednesday across formats.

In bowling, Chris Woakes has re-entered the top 20 for the first time since September 2021. His figures of 4 for 84 and 2 for 28 were instrumental. Spinner Shoaib Bashir has climbed 18 slots to reach 53rd position after achieving his third five-wicket haul in just his fifth Test.

Bowlers Alzarri Joseph and Jayden Seales Improve Rankings

West Indies' new-ball bowlers have also seen improvements. Alzarri Joseph moved up two places to 33rd after taking five wickets in the match. Jayden Seales advanced from 44th to 34th with a six-wicket haul.

West Indies Players Make Strides

Kraigg Brathwaite, West Indies captain, has moved up two slots to reach 40th position with scores of 48 and 47. Wicketkeeper Joshua de Silva ascended seven places to reach 61st. Jason Holder moved up two places to reach 70th, while Kavem Hodge climbed an impressive 21 places to reach the 75th spot.

ICC ODI Rankings Update

In ODI rankings, Namibia left-arm spinner Bernard Scholtz achieved a career-best sixth position after taking three wickets for just 23 runs against Scotland in an ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League match.

Namibia captain Gerhard Erasmus and Scotland's George Munsey have also improved their batting rankings. Erasmus rose four places to reach the 27th spot, while Munsey climbed seven places to secure the 41st position.

The latest updates reflect significant movements among players from both England and West Indies, showcasing their performances on an international stage.
