ICC Rankings: Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma Ascend In Women's T20I

India's Harmanpreet Kaur and Shafali Verma have made notable advancements in the latest ICC Women's T20I Player Rankings. Sri Lanka's spinner Inoshi Priyadharshani has also seen a rise, following the update on Tuesday, July 23.

Kaur and Verma now share the 11th position after their impressive performances in the ongoing Women's Asia Cup 2024 in Sri Lanka. Kaur's unbeaten five runs against Pakistan and a remarkable 66 against the United Arab Emirates have moved her up one spot. Verma's scores of 40 and 37 runs in recent matches have elevated her by four positions.

Kaur, Verma Rise in T20I Rankings

Off-spinner Priyadharshani has climbed three places to a career-best fourth position after taking two crucial wickets against Bangladesh and another against Malaysia. Other bowlers making significant gains include:

  • Nahida Akter (Bangladesh): Up nine places to 21st
  • Marufa Akter (Bangladesh): Up one place to 26th
  • Udeshika Prabodhani (Sri Lanka): Up four places to 30th
  • Shreyanka Patil (India): Up 19 places to 41st

England captain Heather Knight, who scored an unbeaten match-winning 46 off 31 balls in the final game of their five-match series against New Zealand, has re-entered the top 20 after gaining two slots. England's new-ball bowler Lauren Bell also advanced, breaking into the top 10 with a three-wicket haul.

The latest rankings update also saw several batters benefiting from their performances in the Women's Asia Cup:

  • Richa Ghosh (India): Up four places to 24th
  • Murshida Khatun (Bangladesh): Up six places to 47th
  • Vishmi Gunaratne (Sri Lanka): Up seven places to 51st
  • Nattaya Boochatham (Thailand): Up ten places to 76th

New Zealand's Amelia Kerr moved up two places to 13th in the batting rankings, while her sister Jess Kerr progressed five places to joint-42nd in the bowling rankings.
