Haris Rauf Faces Off With Fan In Heated Exchange After T20 World Cup Departure
Haris Rauf found himself in a heated altercation with a fan following Pakistan's early exit from the T20 World Cup 2024 in the USA. Pakistan, having lost to both the USA and India in their Group A matches, did not advance to the Super 8 stage.
A video that has since gone viral shows Haris Rauf reacting angrily to a comment from a fan while walking with his wife. The Pakistan pacer appeared ready to confront the fan physically. However, three friends intervened, preventing any physical altercation. "Nahi Haris bhai nahi," one of them was heard saying as they restrained him.

The fan, who claimed he was merely asking for a picture, repeatedly said, "Bas ek picture maangi hai, fans hai aapke (I just asked for one picture, we are your fans)." Despite this, Haris Rauf hurled abuses at the fan. Although unclear, he seemed to say, "Baap ko gaali de raha hai? India nahi hai ye (Is it your father's home? This is not India)."
The fan quickly clarified that he was not an Indian but a Pakistani supporter. Haris Rauf continued his tirade, questioning the fan's upbringing. "Pakistan se hai fir bhi ye haalat hai teri? Is this what your father has taught you? (You behave like this despite being from Pakistan?)."
Fan wanted to take a picture with Haris Rauf but he denied. Fan called him Proudy and rude, which was unacceptable for Haris. He called the Fan Indian but the Fan said I am not Indian I am Pakistani just wanted to take a picture.

Throughout the incident, Haris Rauf's wife attempted to calm him down and even placed her hand over his mouth at one point. Eventually, both parties walked away separately after the confrontation.
Despite this incident, Haris Rauf had a notable performance in the T20 World Cup 2024. He ended as Pakistan's joint-highest wicket-taker, securing seven wickets in four matches at an average of 14.42 and an economy rate of 6.73. His standout performance included figures of 3/21 against India on June 9.
However, his efforts were not enough to secure victories for Pakistan. In their opening game against the USA, he failed to defend 15 runs in the final over, leading to a loss in a thrilling Super Over. Subsequently, Pakistan also lost to India, resulting in their failure to qualify for the Super 8 stage. India and USA advanced from Group A.
