Krunal Pandya Highlights Brother Hardik’s Journey To T20 World Cup Glory

Indian all-rounder Krunal Pandya shared an emotional post on social media, reflecting on the challenging six months his brother Hardik Pandya endured. He expressed that Hardik did not deserve the hardships he faced during this period.

Hardik Pandya's appointment as captain of Mumbai Indians for IPL 2024, replacing Rohit Sharma, sparked criticism from fans and experts alike. Despite no fault of his own, the star all-rounder faced significant backlash.

Hardik’s Road to T20 World Cup Success

The 30-year-old was often booed by his own supporters during the recent tournament. However, these boos turned into cheers on July 4 when Hardik returned to Wankhede Stadium with the T20 World Cup trophy.

Hardik played a crucial role in India's victory at the T20 World Cup held in the USA and the Caribbean. His performance in the final against South Africa was particularly noteworthy as he bowled India to victory from a seemingly impossible position.

Krunal Pandya took to Instagram to express his relief and pride in his brother's achievements. "It's almost been a decade since Hardik and I started playing professional cricket. And the last few days have been like a fairy tale that we've dreamt off," he wrote.

He continued, "Like every countryman I've lived this through our team's heroics and I couldn't be more emotional with my brother being at the heart of it."

Reflecting on the difficult times, Krunal added, "The last six months have been the toughest for Hardik. He simply didn't deserve what he went through, and as a brother, I felt very, very bad for him."

Overcoming Adversity

"From booing to people saying all kinds of nasty things, at the end of the day, we all forgot that he is just a human being who also has emotions," Krunal noted. Despite these challenges, Hardik managed to keep smiling and focused on his goal of winning the World Cup.

Krunal highlighted Hardik's resilience: "He somehow passed through all of this with a smile, though I know how hard it was for him to put on a smile. He kept working hard and focusing on what he needed to do to get the World Cup since that was his ultimate objective."

A Dream Realised

After achieving his long-standing dream, Krunal revealed insights into Hardik's journey and ambitions from childhood. "He has now played his heart out to realise India's long-standing dream - And nothing has ever meant more to him," Krunal said.

"From the age of 6 - It's playing for the country and winning the World Cup that's been the dream," he added.

A Remarkable Career

Krunal reminded everyone of Hardik's impressive career achievements: "I just want to remind people that what Hardik has done in such a short span in his career is unbelievable. His efforts for the national team have never been compromised."

"Every time, at every stage of Hardik's life, people have written him off, and that has only motivated him to come back even stronger," Krunal stated.

A Proud Brother

Krunal concluded by expressing his pride and love for Hardik: "Hardik, I am so, so proud of you. I love you so much, and you deserve every bit of happiness and all the good things that are coming your way. I have immense respect for you, my bachhu," he concluded.
