Hardik Pandya Trains For T20 World Cup In New York Amidst Divorce Rumours

Hardik Pandya trained with his Team India teammates in New York ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 on Tuesday. The 30-year-old India vice-captain for the ICC showpiece event, which starts on June 2, expressed his enthusiasm about being in the USA for the tournament.

Pandya did not travel with the first batch of Team India members who left for the T20 World Cup 2024. Reports indicate he flew to New York from London. The star all-rounder has been in the news lately for his rumoured split with wife Natasa Stankovic.

"Very exciting to be here in New York. Has a good vibe, bright sun out," Pandya said in a video posted by the BCCI on Wednesday, May 29.

Soham Desai, India's strength and mental conditioning coach, supervised the team's first training session after arriving in the USA. Players such as Sanju Samson, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Avesh Khan, and Yuzvendra Chahal have also landed in the country. They were not part of the first batch of players who flew out of India.

"We have not yet played cricket. We have come here for a team activity. The weather is really good, so looking forward to it," Jasprit Bumrah said.

Desai mentioned that the objective was to get acclimated to US conditions and adjust to the time zone. The video posted by the BCCI showed players like India captain Rohit Sharma, Shivam Dube, Arshdeep Singh, Suryakumar Yadav, Sanju Samson, Ravindra Jadeja, and Kuldeep Yadav playing football.

Upcoming Matches

Virat Kohli is yet to join the squad as India prepares for their only warm-up match against Bangladesh on June 1. Their first match of the T20 World Cup 2024 is against Ireland on June 5. The Men in Blue will face Pakistan on June 9 in New York.
