Hardik Pandya Hails Indian Dominance Post Stellar Bowling Against Ireland
India's vice-captain Hardik Pandya declared that Indians "rule the world" following his impressive performance against Ireland in the T20 World Cup 2024 match on Wednesday, June 5. Pandya, who has recently been under scrutiny for various reasons, showcased his skills by taking three crucial wickets, helping India bowl out Ireland for a mere 96 runs.
Pandya's bowling spell began in the 7th over, where he clean-bowled Lorcan Tucker with an exceptional delivery. He then took the vital wicket of Curtis Campher and later dismissed Mark Adair. Pandya's figures stood at 3 for 27 in his four overs, making him the standout bowler of the match.

During the mid-innings interview, Pandya expressed his joy at returning to the Indian team. He had previously exited the World Cup 2023 abruptly due to an injury sustained against Bangladesh. This match marked his return to national colours after a significant hiatus.
"It's always special to play for the country and for pride. I have been fortunate to contribute in World Cups. I particularly enjoyed my first wicket today; I don't often hit the stumps as I usually bowl short of a length. On this surface, discipline and hitting the right areas were crucial," Pandya said.
The Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas saw massive support from Indian fans. Commenting on the crowd, Pandya noted that Indians are present everywhere and have a significant influence globally.
"It's always fantastic to see the crowd. We Indians are everywhere; we rule the world. It's good to have their support," Pandya added.
India comfortably chased down their target with more than seven overs to spare, securing an 8-wicket victory over Ireland.
