Harbhajan Singh Unveils Shikhar Dhawan's Untold Dating Stories

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh recently shared an amusing anecdote about Shikhar Dhawan's dating days with his ex-wife Ayesha Mukherjee. Speaking on JioCinema's series 'Dhawan Karenge with Shikhar Dhawan', Harbhajan revealed that Dhawan would spend nearly 18 hours a day video chatting with Mukherjee.

During India's tour of the West Indies in 2011, Harbhajan was taken aback by Dhawan's unkempt appearance. "We were in West Indies. I saw a guy coming, slim and in a shabby condition. He was wearing a Kurta Pajama. When he came close I realised it was Shikhar Dhawan. Ye Majnu bana hua tha (He had become a Romeo)," Harbhajan said on the show.

Harbhajan added, "We had named him Jatt@skype. He was video chatting 18 out of 24 hours - 'Hi honey, bye honey. Kya haal bana liya tha yaar'. What had you made of yourself. 'Kurta Pajama me naada lamba kar'. I was shocked." Host Shikhar Dhawan laughed as Harbhajan narrated the story before quipping, "When I turned into a lover, I gave my heart and soul."

The out-of-favour India opener divorced Ayesha Mukherjee in October 2023 after 11 years of marriage, citing mental cruelty. The couple has a son named Zoravar together.

"There is no dispute that both parties had agreed to take divorce by mutual consent and that their marriage is otherwise dead long ago and have not been living as husband and wife since August 8, 2020," Judge Harish Kumar stated in his verdict.

Ayesha Mukherjee, who has two daughters from her previous marriage in Australia, had initially promised to settle in India after marrying Dhawan but later refrained from doing so. She also kept their son away from Dhawan for years and made him purchase three properties in Australia.

Although the family court did not pass any order on the permanent custody of the couple's son, it granted visitation rights to 38-year-old Shikhar Dhawan. He can meet his son for appropriate durations in India and Australia and also chat with him over video call.
