Harbhajan Singh Stands Up For Irfan Pathan Against Misleading Claims By Pakistan Fans
Harbhajan Singh defended his friend Irfan Pathan after a misleading video surfaced on X. The video, shared by a fan page dedicated to Babar Azam, falsely claimed that the former Pakistan captain refused an interview request from Irfan Pathan.
The clip, taken during last year's World Cup in India, shows a journalist approaching Babar Azam for an interview. Babar Azam quickly walks away without engaging with the journalist.

'Babar Azam's World' posted the video on X, alleging that the person following Babar was Irfan Pathan, now a broadcaster. The caption read, "When @IrfanPathan begs to Babar Azam for Interview and he refused."
Harbhajan Singh saw the video and was shocked by its misleading nature. He criticised Pakistan fans for their disrespect towards Indian cricketers.
Where is @IrfanPathan in this video ?? Bolne ki tameez to aap logo ko pehle hi nahi thi. Ab aankho se dikhna bi bandh ho gya kya ? Waise bi agar angreji mai swal pooch liya to pange pad jayenge. https://t.co/0IQpnDEBC4

Irfan Pathan responded to Harbhajan Singh's tweet, saying, "Inko jhoot bolke REACH chahiye. Ignore maaro Paaji @harbhajan_singh."
Recent Tensions Between India and Pakistan
Pakistan fans have been vocal against Indian cricketers since Rohit Sharma's team won the T20 World Cup 2024 in June. Pakistan exited early after losing to India and the USA.
In the ODI World Cup 2023, Pakistan also lost to India and failed to reach the semi-finals. Babar Azam stepped down as captain but was re-appointed before the T20 World Cup 2024.
India and Pakistan are currently at odds ahead of the Champions Trophy 2025. The ICC event is set for Pakistan next year, but India has security concerns about travelling there.
