Gujarat Titans Appoint Gurnoor Brar As Sushant Mishra's IPL Replacement
In a strategic move to bolster their squad, the Gujarat Titans, champions of the IPL 2022, have announced the signing of right-arm pacer Gurnoor Brar. This decision comes as a replacement for Sushant Mishra, the left-arm quick who is currently sidelined due to injury. Gurnoor, who hails from Punjab and plays domestic cricket for the state, is set to embark on his second journey in the Indian Premier League, having previously donned the jersey for Punjab Kings.
Despite his limited exposure in the T20 format, with just one match under his belt for Punjab Kings against Lucknow Super Giants last season in Mohali, where he conceded 42 runs in three overs without securing a wicket, the 23-year-old pacer is ready to make his mark. His performance outside the IPL circuit includes a List-A match for Punjab against Goa in 2021, where he ended with figures of 1 for 62. Moreover, Gurnoor has claimed seven wickets across eight First-Class innings, boasting an average of 45.57.

The Gujarat Titans, led by Shubman Gill, find themselves in the eighth position on the points table with 10 points from 12 games. Their recent victory over the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by 35 runs has kept their spirits high. Despite being placed lower on the table and their playoff chances appearing slim, the team has not been officially eliminated from the competition. They are gearing up for their next encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders on May 13, aiming to leave a significant impact.
This addition to the Gujarat Titans squad signifies a crucial step in their strategy to strengthen their bowling lineup as they navigate through the challenges of the IPL season. Gurnoor Brar's inclusion is anticipated to add depth and versatility to their attack, providing them with additional options as they aim to climb up the points table.
