Gujarat Titans Likely To Target Four Key Players Via RTM At IPL 2025 Mega Auction

In the IPL 2024 season, Gujarat Titans, led by Shubman Gill, did not make it to the playoffs. The team from Ahmedabad ended up in eighth place on the leaderboard with 12 points, having won five matches and lost seven.

The franchise retained key players like Shubman Gill for INR 16.5 crore, Rashid Khan for INR 18 crore, B Sai Sudharsan for INR 8.5 crore, Rahul Tewatia for INR 4 crore, and Shahrukh Khan also for INR 4 crore.

Despite retaining these marquee players, Gujarat Titans released several others including David Miller and Mohammed Shami. They have a budget of INR 69 crore left for the auction and one Right to Match (RTM) card available. This RTM can be used exclusively on a capped player, and it will be interesting to see their strategy at the auction.

David Miller stands out as a potential RTM target due to his past performances with Gujarat Titans. Known for his explosive batting style and finishing ability, Miller has been crucial in previous seasons. Since joining in 2022, he scored 481 runs in his first season followed by 259 runs in the next. In IPL 2024, he managed to score 210 runs in nine matches with a strike rate of 151 despite limited appearances.

Vijay Shankar is another player who might interest Gujarat Titans at the auction. Although his contributions have varied over seasons, he had an impressive run in IPL 2023 with 301 runs including three fifties at a strike rate of 160. However, his performance dipped in other seasons with only modest contributions.

Mohit Sharma could also be a strong candidate for the RTM card given his impact as a bowler. After returning to form in IPL 2023 with 27 wickets in 14 games and nearly winning GT the final match that year, he continued to perform well last season taking 13 wickets in twelve games.

Noor Ahmad: A Promising Young Talent

Noor Ahmad is another promising player who might be targeted using the RTM card by Gujarat Titans. At just nineteen years old but already showing maturity beyond his age through consistent performances across twenty-three games where he took twenty-four wickets maintaining an economy rate of eight point zero three per over.

Noor's sharp left-arm wrist spin adds unpredictability which can prove advantageous on Indian pitches making him valuable both now as well as long-term prospect under guidance from teammate Rashid Khan if retained via RTM card during upcoming auctions.
