Gautam Gambhir Guides Team India In Prep For Sri Lanka T20I Clash
Gautam Gambhir engaged in a one-on-one training session with Sanju Samson as Team India prepared for the first T20I against Sri Lanka, set to take place in Pallekele on Saturday, July 27.
The T20I squad departed for Sri Lanka after Gautam Gambhir held his inaugural press conference as the head coach of the Indian cricket team in Mumbai on Monday, July 22. In a video released by the BCCI on Tuesday, Gambhir was seen overseeing the Men in Blue's training session.

During the training, former India opener Gambhir was also observed conversing with all-rounder Shivam Dube. Meanwhile, vice-captain Shubman Gill chatted with Axar Patel and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Captain Suryakumar Yadav addressed the team huddle with Hardik Pandya standing beside him.

"The important thing is to give players the freedom. That's what I absolutely believe in, and not have a relationship which is of head coach and a player. To me, the best relationship is built on trust. And that is going to be very important. I can promise that they [players] will always have my back," Gambhir stated during his first press conference as head coach.
"I have always said that a happy dressing room is a winning dressing room, and a happy and secure dressing room is my responsibility alongside the entire support staff," he added.
Team Dynamics and Selection
The combination of India's playing eleven for the first T20I will be intriguing with Gambhir and Suryakumar Yadav leading. A decision between wicketkeeper-batters Samson and Rishabh Pant is anticipated.
