Gautam Gambhir's Gesture To End Feud With Virat Kohli Highlighted By Amit Mishra
Gautam Gambhir took the initiative to resolve his conflict with Virat Kohli, as revealed by former India leg-spinner Amit Mishra. Mishra shared that Gambhir showed a big heart by approaching Kohli and initiating a conversation.
The IPL 2024 season showcased a different dynamic between Gambhir and Kohli. They buried their past differences, talked, and even hugged when they met. Despite being in opposing teams, they interacted during practice sessions before matches.

Amit Mishra was among the players who intervened when Gambhir and Kohli clashed during an IPL 2023 match. The altercation began while Naveen-ul-Haq and Amit Mishra were batting for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Mishra attempted to calm the situation as Kohli and Naveen argued in a low-scoring thriller. Kohli pointed fingers at Mishra, asking him to calm his teammate instead of him.
After the game, Kohli and Naveen clashed again during the customary handshake ceremony. At this point, LSG mentor Gambhir intervened and confronted Kohli. Players and support staff from both sides had to step in to diffuse the situation.
Amit Mishra revealed that it was Gambhir who approached Kohli to end their feud. He added that Virat should have shown respect to his senior by stepping forward first.
"I saw a good thing about Gautam. Virat Kohli didn't go towards him; Gautam went towards him. He asked 'How are you, how's your family.' So it was Gautam who ended the feud and not Kohli," Amit Mishra said on Shubhankar Mishra's YouTube Channel.
Mishra's Perspective on Virat's Transformation
During the same conversation, Amit Mishra discussed how Virat Kohli changed after gaining fame and money. He praised Rohit Sharma for staying grounded despite his achievements.
"I won't lie. As a cricketer, I respect him a lot, but I don't share the same equation with him as I used to. Why does Virat have fewer friends? His and Rohit's natures are different," Mishra stated.
"I'll tell you the best thing about Rohit. When I met him the first day and when I meet him today, he is the same person. So will you relate to him more or with someone who changes according to situation?" Mishra added.
Virat's Evolution Over Time
Mishra noted significant changes in Virat over time. "We had almost stopped talking. When you get fame and power, they think people are reaching out to them for a purpose. I was never one of those," he said.
"I have known Cheeku since he was 14 when he used to eat Samosas and needed Pizza every night. But there is a huge difference between the Cheeku I knew and Virat Kohli, the captain," he continued.
"Whenever he meets me, he is very respectful, but it's obviously not the same anymore," Mishra concluded.
Virat Kohli announced his retirement from T20I cricket after India won the T20 World Cup 2024 on June 29. The star batter is currently in London with his family.
