Post-T20 World Cup 2024: The Next Chapter For Nassau Cricket Stadium
The Nassau Cricket Stadium in New York has etched its name in history. Located on Long Island, just outside the bustling city, the stadium is hosting T20 World Cup 2024 matches.
As part of the effort to globalise and expand cricket in the USA, the ICC took a bold step by constructing a stadium in New York. Within five to six months, they erected this international venue, which has already hosted the flagship encounter of the World Cup between India and Pakistan.

The undulating nature of the Nassau County pitch has garnered criticism, but it has certainly provided thrilling matches. The India and Pakistan match was historic, while teams like South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh have also played at the stadium, accumulating seven group-stage matches.
The Nassau County stadium had ten drop-in pitches flown in from Florida. Four of these pitches were installed at the main stadium, while six others were incorporated at Cantiague Park, where team India and others are conducting their practices.
As the T20 World Cup concludes, the Nassau County Stadium in Long Island will undergo changes. The Super Eight stages will shift the entire tournament to the West Indies, meaning the group stage match between India and USA is the last at this New York venue.
Once it serves its purpose for the World Cup, the stadium will undergo modifications. The modular parts of the stadium will be dismantled. The stands that were installed will be removed, but the world-class pitch and other ground infrastructure will remain intact. Eisenhower Park, as it was known before, will then be opened for local cricket clubs and fans as cricket looks to take its next step in the country.
