Revealing The Fastest Centuries In T20 World Cup History
With the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup set to commence on June 1, it's an opportune moment to revisit the batting superstars who have scored the fastest hundreds in the tournament's history.
While hundreds in T20 leagues like the IPL are commendable, a T20I hundred holds more prestige, but nothing compares to a hundred at the T20 World Cup. Only ten batters have achieved this feat, with a total of eleven centuries recorded in the tournament's history. Suresh Raina is the only Indian batter to have scored a hundred in the T20 World Cup, achieving it in 59 balls.

Chris Gayle stands out as the only batter to have scored two hundreds in T20 World Cup history. The West Indies legend also holds the record for the two fastest hundreds in the tournament.
Gayle's first record-breaking hundred came off 47 balls against England at Wankhede Stadium during the 2016 T20 World Cup. His second fastest hundred was a 50-ball effort against South Africa in the inaugural 2007 T20 World Cup.
Former New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum, known for his aggressive 'Bazball' style of Test cricket, hit the third-fastest T20 World Cup hundred off just 51 balls in 2012. This impressive knock was against Bangladesh in Pallekele, Sri Lanka.
South African batter Rilee Rossouw, who missed out on a spot in the T20 World Cup 2024 squad, scored a 52-ball hundred against Bangladesh in Sydney during the last T20 World Cup. Pakistan's Ahmed Shehzad holds the fifth-fastest T20 World Cup hundred, achieved in 58 balls against Bangladesh in Mirpur during the 2014 tournament.
