Justin Langer Urges Fans To Enjoy The Last Border-Gavaskar Trophy Featuring Cricket Legends

Justin Langer, the former head coach of Australia, urged cricket enthusiasts to "enjoy it while you can" as several prominent Australian and Indian Test players might be participating in their last Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia.

The upcoming five-match Test series between India and Australia, starting on Friday, November 22, at Perth's Optus Stadium, holds significant importance with a World Test Championship (WTC) Final spot at stake.

Langer Calls for Fans to Enjoy Final BGT

Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Nathan Lyon, and Mitchell Starc are among those who could be playing their final Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia as they near the end of their careers.

Despite India's recent home series whitewash against New Zealand, Langer expressed excitement about watching the star-studded team play. He acknowledged that fans might dismiss them as an ageing squad but emphasised their champion status.

"One thing you never do is write off champions, and that is in every sport because they are a champion for a reason," Langer stated to The West Australian. He highlighted the immense pressure on the Indian team from cricket-loving fans worldwide.

Langer also noted that people often criticise these players for being too old. However, he eagerly anticipates seeing them perform. "I just hope, if this is the last time (Kohli) is out here, people enjoy it because he is a superstar," he said.

Appreciating Australia's Bowling Attack

Langer encouraged fans to appreciate Australia's experienced bowling attack led by Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Nathan Lyon. He reminded everyone that this talented group won't be around forever.

"It is the same with the Australians; the bowling attack is a very senior attack now... so really enjoy it while you can; they are not going to be around forever," Langer concluded.
