England To Host West Indies In 2024 Test Series: Complete Schedule And Team Details

The 2023-25 World Test Championship cycle continues with England hosting West Indies in a three-match series. The first Test will take place from Wednesday (July 10) to Sunday (July 14) at Lord's in London.

For the home team, Ben Stokes will lead a 15-member squad, which includes two uncapped players: Jamie Smith and Dillon Pennington. Notably absent from the previous red ball squad are wicketkeepers Jonny Bairstow and Ben Foakes.

This series marks West Indies' first visit to England for a Test series since their behind-closed-doors tour during the COVID pandemic in 2020. In that series, West Indies won the opening match but England came back to win the series 2-1.

The visitors have named an inexperienced side led by Kraigg Brathwaite with Alzarri Joseph as his deputy. Tagenarine Chanderpaul is a notable absentee from the West Indies squad.

A significant focus will be on James Anderson as he plays his final Test at Lord's. The veteran pacer is set to retire after a two-decade-long international career with a total of 969 wickets across Tests and ODIs.
