England Vs West Indies At Lord's: Anderson Bows Out As Three Debut
Three players are set to make their Test debut during James Anderson's farewell match at Lord's in London on Wednesday, July 10. England and West Indies have announced their playing XI for the first Test of the three-match series.
As Anderson concludes his over two-decade-long international career, England's Gus Atkinson and Jamie Smith, along with West Indies' Mikyle Louis, will play their first-ever Test match at the iconic venue.

England 11: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (captain), Jamie Smith (wicketkeeper), Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Shoaib Bashir, James Anderson.
West Indies 11: Kraigg Brathwaite (captain), Mikyle Louis, Kirk McKenzie, Alick Athanaze, Kavem Hodge, Jason Holder, Joshua Da Silva (wicketkeeper), Alzarri Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Shamar Joseph, Jayden Seales.
The 41-year-old Anderson is the highest wicket-taker among pace bowlers in Tests with 700 wickets. He will be playing his 188th and final Test as announced earlier this year as England looks to the future.
Shoaib Bashir has been selected ahead of Jack Leach as the lone frontline spinner and will play his first home Test. Bashir made his Test debut earlier this year in India.
Smith was chosen over Jonny Bairstow and Ben Foakes for wicketkeeping duties in Brendon McCullum's red-ball squad. Atkinson will join Anderson and Chris Woakes in the bowling attack.
Apart from these new faces, the rest of the England team remains unchanged. Zak Crawley and Ben Duckett will open ahead of Ollie Pope. Joe Root, Harry Brook and skipper Ben Stokes complete the batting order.
The visitors have opted for Louis to open with skipper Kraigg Brathwaite. The 23-year-old from St Kitts secured a spot in the West Indies XI over Zac McCaskie.
The West Indies lineup also includes Shamar Joseph who impressed on the tour to Australia. Joseph will be part of a pace attack featuring vice-captain Alzarri Joseph and Jayden Seales. All-rounder Jason Holder is another seam option.
Gudakesh Motie is the lone specialist spinner for West Indies while Joshua Da Silva continues as wicketkeeper. Kirk McKenzie, Alick Athanze and Kavem Hodge complete the playing group.
This match marks a significant moment as it not only sees new talents making their debut but also bids farewell to one of cricket's legends at a historic venue.
