England To Field Unchanged Squad In Third Test Versus West Indies For Series Whitewash

England have announced an unchanged lineup for the third Test against West Indies at Edgbaston, aiming for a series sweep. Ben Stokes' team secured a 2-0 lead in the three-match series with a decisive 241-run win at Trent Bridge last week.

In that match, Ollie Pope (121 in the first innings), Joe Root (122 in the second innings), and Harry Brook (109 in the second innings) all scored centuries. This victory marked England's first series win since their triumph in Pakistan during the 2022-23 season.

The upcoming match in Birmingham, starting on Friday, will see no changes to the squad. Mark Wood retains his place after making a return in the previous game. Shoaib Bashir is also set to continue after an impressive performance in Nottingham.

Bashir took five wickets, including a remarkable spell of 3-8 within just 15 deliveries during the second innings. His contribution was pivotal in England's dominant display.

England's team for the third Test includes Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes, Jamie Smith, Chris Woakes, Gus Atkinson, Mark Wood, and Shoaib Bashir.

Joe Root and Ollie Pope were standout performers with their centuries at Trent Bridge. Their contributions were crucial in securing England's commanding position in the series.

Ben Stokes' leadership has been instrumental throughout this series. His strategic decisions and on-field performances have significantly contributed to England's success so far.

The consistency shown by England's batting lineup has been a key factor. The team will look to maintain this momentum as they head into the final match of the series.

The unchanged squad reflects confidence in the current team's ability to deliver another strong performance. Fans will be eager to see if England can complete a clean sweep against West Indies.

The third Test promises to be an exciting contest as both teams aim to finish the series on a high note. With England already securing the series win, they will now focus on achieving a whitewash victory.
