England Cricket Team Rides High On Confidence Ahead Of T20 World Cup, Reveals Buttler

Jos Buttler expressed optimism about the England squad following their pre-T20 World Cup series win over Pakistan. The reigning champions, set to begin their title defence against Scotland in Barbados on Tuesday, concluded their preparations with a seven-wicket victory at The Oval, securing a 2-0 series win.

The series faced disruptions due to washouts in Leeds and Cardiff, but England ended on a high note by successfully chasing Pakistan's total of 157 with 27 balls to spare. Despite Pakistan's strong start at 59-0 within the first six overs, Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer quickly dismissed Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam, shifting momentum in England's favour.

England Confident for T20 World Cup

Buttler (39) and Phil Salt (45) led England's chase on the day of Buttler's record-breaking 116th T20I for his country, surpassing Eoin Morgan. Despite playing two fewer games than scheduled, Buttler believes the squad is well-prepared for their World Cup defence.

"We have worked hard in training and there is a good feeling around the squad," Buttler said. "Guys are all stepping up and performing. It would have been nice to get two more games in to expose a few guys to different situations, but we have really good experience in the group and a lot of guys have been playing in the IPL, so we are not short of cricket."

Reflecting on his own performance, Buttler added: "I have a quest to keep improving, trying to work on a few different things in my game that I haven't been doing. That is giving me fresh energy and motivation. It went well for five or six overs but then I got out."

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam acknowledged the need for improvement as his team prepares for their World Cup opener against the United States on Thursday. "The middle order needs to step up," Azam said. "We need to sort out those things for the World Cup. We have a few injuries, but there are a lot of positives. Our play is good in patches."

The series provided valuable insights for both teams as they gear up for the T20 World Cup. England's solid performance and positive team atmosphere bode well for their title defence, while Pakistan aims to address key areas before their campaign begins.
