England Keeps T20 World Cup Hopes Alive With Decisive Win Over Oman

England secured a crucial victory in the T20 World Cup, defeating Oman by eight wickets in a match that concluded within four overs. After their initial game against Scotland was washed out and a subsequent loss to Australia, England faced elimination if they lost on Thursday. Oman struggled significantly, with Shoaib Khan being the only player to reach double figures, scoring 11 runs.

England's bowling was exceptional, with Adil Rashid leading the charge with figures of 4-11. Jofra Archer and Mark Wood also contributed significantly, each taking three wickets for 12 runs. Oman was bowled out for just 47 runs in 13.2 overs.

Chasing a target of 48, England's batsmen were aggressive from the outset. Phil Salt hit two sixes off the first two balls but was soon caught. Captain Jos Buttler scored an impressive 24 runs off eight balls, while Jonny Bairstow hit the decisive four to bring England to 50-2 in just 19 balls.

Oman's total of 47 is the fourth-lowest score in T20 World Cup history and marked England's best bowling performance in the tournament. With 101 balls remaining after their successful chase, England set a new World Cup record for the fastest chase.
