Brandon King Joins Durban Super Giants For Betway SA20 Season 3

Durban's Super Giants have strengthened their batting lineup for Betway SA20 Season 3 by signing West Indies opener Brandon King. The 29-year-old has extensive T20 experience, having played 142 T20 matches, including 55 T20 Internationals for the West Indies.

King was a key player for the Windies in the recent ICC Men's T20 World Cup held in the USA and Caribbean. Unfortunately, his participation was cut short due to a side strain during the Super Eight match against England in St Lucia. Despite this setback, King has accumulated 3349 T20 runs at an average of 27.51 and a strike rate of 133.31, including two centuries and 21 half-centuries.

Over the past year, King has been particularly impressive. He was named in the Caribbean Premier League Team of Tournament 2023 after scoring 288 runs for the now-defunct Jamaica Tallawahs. His performance in the T20I series against South Africa was also noteworthy, as he topped the run-scoring charts with 179 runs at an average of 53.0 during the three-match series.

King joins a growing list of West Indian players who have brought their unique Caribbean flair to Kingsmead over the past two seasons. Previous West Indies players for DSG include Johnson Charles, Kyle Mayers, Jason Holder, Keemo Paul, and Nicholas Pooran.

In Season 1, Johnson Charles and Kyle Mayers opened for DSG alongside all-rounders Jason Holder and Keemo Paul. For Season 2, Mayers and Paul returned to Durban, joined by Trinidad and Tobago star Nicholas Pooran as a Wildcard addition. The Super Giants finished as runners-up in Season 2 and hope that King's addition will help them clinch the title next year.

The inclusion of Brandon King is expected to further enhance DSG's batting strength. His experience and recent form make him a valuable asset to the team as they aim for success in Betway SA20 Season 3.

The Super Giants' management is optimistic that King's presence will provide the necessary boost to achieve their goals in the upcoming season.
