Duleep Trophy 2024 Reveals Captains For Its Four Star-Studded Teams

The BCCI announced the squads for the Duleep Trophy 2024 on Wednesday, August 14. The tournament will feature four teams and commence on September 5 in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh. Several regulars from Team India have been included in these star-studded squads.

Each of the four teams—Team A, Team B, Team C, and Team D—comprises 15 players. Notable selections have been made for the captaincy roles across these teams.

Shubman Gill will lead Team A. The squad includes experienced Karnataka batters Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul, along with senior spinner Kuldeep Yadav.

Abhimanyu Easwaran has been named the captain of Team B. The Bengal opener is the only uncapped captain in this year's tournament. Easwaran's team features Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Washington Sundar, and Mukesh Kumar.

Ruturaj Gaikwad will captain Team C. This team includes India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and promising talents like Sai Sudharsan, Abishek Porel, and Umran Malik.

Shreyas Iyer will lead Team D. Key players in his squad include Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, Devdutt Padikkal, KS Bharat, and Arshdeep Singh.

Shubman Gill: The 24-year-old Punjab batter has played 25 Tests and 52 first-class matches to date.

Abhimanyu Easwaran: The 27-year-old Bengal opener has played 94 first-class matches but is yet to debut for India.

Ruturaj Gaikwad: The Maharashtra opener has made his India debut in ODIs and T20Is but hasn't played a Test match yet. He has played 29 first-class games with an average of 43.42.

Shreyas Iyer: The Mumbai batter has played 14 Test matches for India and a total of 72 first-class games.
