Rapper Drake Bags Rs 1.7 Crore As KKR Clinches IPL 2024 Title
Kolkata Knight Riders clinched their third IPL title after defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 Final on Sunday, May 26.
Following an impressive bowling performance that saw them dismiss SRH for just 113 runs, the Knight Riders chased down the target in 10.3 overs, securing a victory by eight wickets. This win ended KKR's decade-long IPL trophy drought. While KKR fans and players celebrated, singer-rapper Drake also had a reason to smile.

Grammy-winning rapper Drake made headlines by placing a USD 250,000 bet on KKR to win the IPL 2024 Final against SRH, which amounts to around Rs 2 crore in Indian currency. With odds of 1.8, the rapper stood to gain USD 450,000 if KKR won.
This was Drake's first venture into cricket betting, having previously tried his luck in basketball, American Football, and Rugby. The 37-year-old artist shared his bet slip on Instagram, generating excitement around the IPL final.
Drake captioned his Instagram Story with, "I am going with KKR for my first ever cricket bet, Korbo Lorbo Jeetbo," along with an image of the bet slip.
Drake Wins Around Rs 1.7 Crore
As KKR emerged victorious, Drake inevitably won his bet. With the bet of around Rs 2 crore in Indian currency, Drake will now collect about Rs 3.73 crore, making him approximately Rs 1.7 crore richer. Although the rapper didn't share any update after winning the bet, he must have been pleased after securing the substantial sum of money.
